Naughts and Crosses for children

They say that behind every sewer is a big pile of fabric. Which is something that I can agree with! My mission: to use up part of my seemingly endless pile of leftover fabric scraps. They also say that a messy house is the sign of a happy sewer. This second saying made perfect sense this morning when I got home from work, after I decided to use some of these leftover fabric pieces to make a game of naughts and crosses (complete with its own drawstring bag for easy transportation and storage!). So what - my dining room table and lounge room looked like a fabric scrap-filled bomb had gone off, but that didn't matter because I was happily sewing away at my naughts and crosses board =)

Here is the finished result:

And all packed away...

Mission accomplished! =)

Introducing Golf Punk pants

Lately I have been experimenting with making little boy's pants for my boy Jeremy. I have tried both shorter and longer style pants but I have fallen in love with these...

Introducing Golf Punk pants!

I hope you love them as much as I do!

P.S. You have no idea how hard it was to get these photos. Jeremy decided it was a game so whenever I went to take the photo he would run away! Needless to say I had plenty of blurry action shots!

Be bow tie-d =)

Well, I got straight onto it and whipped up a little bow tie to match the vest I posted about earlier. But then again, who says it must be worn with the vest? Could be worn anytime if you ask me! Too adorable to keep hidden in the wardrobe.

A velcro tab holds this little boys accessory closed, so there is no falling off. However, it is easy enough for quick removal =)

Cute? I think so!

"See my vest, see my vest.." =)

Say hello to the super adorable VEST!
The best part about this vest? It's totally REVERSIBLE!

A brainwave hit after I made this, and I'm now going to make a matching bow tie to go with the vest. Super cute!

Hitting the sewing table after that will be a twirly ruffled skirt for little girls. Nothing makes a girl feel prettier =)

A vest-y Sunday morning, with a side of pancakes!

What a wonderful start to a Sunday morning! We finally have a Sunday where we can just stay at home - we don't have to be anywhere, or do any running around, or meet any commitments. *insert a happy sigh here* I'm sure there are plenty of people who can relate to my happiness with this!

Our lovely morning started with home-made pancakes (no packet mixes here, folks!). So easy to make as well:
1 cup self-raising flour
1/3 cup white sugar (or, add to your taste)
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 capful of vanilla essence

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and cook in a hot frypan, using cooking spray.

Easy peasy! Combine this with two new episodes of Law and Order while early morning rain drizzles outside, and you have one very happy Emilley! =D

On a sewing note...I have finished the cute little vest this morning! After running out of cotton and then a broken sewing machine (which ended up resulting in a new sewing machine), I thought I would never get it done. But it's done at last! I will post pictures in a seperate post to this one...see above...
